Charisma vs RiseGuide: what Charisma does differently
We make Charisma, so read this as our side of the comparison, written from facts you can check. RiseGuide is a self-improvement app with daily lessons built on expert insights, across communication, memory and content creation. Charisma is daily practice for how you talk to people: a quiz builds your path, every lesson ends with a scene you answer in your own words, an AI coach briefed on that lesson reviews it, in seven languages, and your progress lights up a figure with ten zones.
Progress you can see: the aura
Most apps count streaks. Charisma shows your progress as a figure with ten zones, one per skill: Emotional Presence, Body Language, Listening, Voice, Leadership, Dating, Storytelling, Social Confidence, Professional Presence and Conflict Resolution.
- Every lesson brightens a zone. Finish a Listening lesson and the Listening zone glows a little more. After a month the figure shows where you've been working, not just how many days in a row.
- Every day adds a star. The sky behind the figure fills with the days you practiced. Miss a day and the stars stay: progress doesn't reset to zero.
- It carries you through the hard days. On a day when a conversation went badly, the zones you lit are still lit. One bad talk doesn't take back what you've built.
- Seeing it changes how you walk in. Confidence is partly a record. You open the app and see a figure you lit yourself over weeks, and that record is yours before the next conversation starts.
- The figure is you. Not a mascot and not a points total: a person, lit by the work you put in.
RiseGuide: journeys with daily to-dos and quizzes, by its site. No progress figure is described.
AI feedback on your own words, in every lesson
Reading about a skill and using it are different things. Every Charisma lesson ends with a scene from real life: a coworker cuts in, a date goes quiet, a stranger answers with one word. You type or say what you would say.
- The AI is briefed on the lesson. It gets your answer together with that lesson's key step and its traps, so it checks your line against what you just learned, not against a generic idea of good conversation.
- It tells you what landed and what to change. One or two things, in plain words, with a sample answer to compare. Up to three tries per scene.
- In your language, both ways. The whole app runs in English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Italian and Russian: lessons, scenes, voice input and the feedback. Answer in Spanish and the coach answers in Spanish.
- Then one line for the real world. Each lesson closes with Today's practice: one thing to say to a real person before the day is over.
RiseGuide: lessons end with a framework, a script or an exercise, and SEEK answers your questions, by its listing. No review of your own answer is described.
A lesson length you choose, every time
- Three, five or ten minutes. Fast, Medium or Full, your pick for each lesson.
- Switch inside the lesson and keep your place. Started Full and the day got loud? Drop to Fast and finish; the lesson remembers where you were.
- Three minutes is enough to keep the rhythm. On a heavy day you do the short version and the day still counts. That is how a habit survives the weeks when life gets in the way.
- Ten when you want depth. Full lessons add more scenes and the full reasoning behind each one.
RiseGuide: "15 min daily", by its site. One length.
A quiz that builds your path, not a generic plan
- Twenty questions, ten skills ranked. The quiz ranks the ten skills from the one that's hardest for you right now to the easiest, with your own answers as the evidence.
- Built from validated assessments. The questions are drawn from current social skills assessments validated by professional institutions, rewritten as everyday situations.
- Your path starts with the hardest. Then come the courses that match your goals and the places where talking is hard for you, and the app tells you the day you'd finish at one lesson a day.
- Lessons written from research. The lessons draw on published studies and cite them inside, by author and year. The scenes are written from those findings, not from a template.
RiseGuide: a 28-step quiz on its website builds a "personalized charisma challenge".
Pay and cancel in the store, two taps
- Only through the App Store and Google Play. Charisma never bills you directly: every payment goes through your store account, never through a form of ours.
- Cancel in your store settings. Two taps, no email to support, no cancellation page to find. A subscription bought on a website doesn't show up in your store's subscription list; in the low reviews of this app category, "can't cancel, no refund" is the most common complaint, and store billing is how we stay out of it.
- The trial is explained before you choose. What happens on day 1, day 5 and day 7 is on the screen before any plan is picked.
RiseGuide: sold on its website by card or PayPal as well as in the app; its site has a separate Cancel & Refund page.
A direct line to the team
- A public board for requests. Ask for a topic, report a bug, vote for what others asked: charismasocialskills.featurebase.app. The team that builds the app reads every entry.
- No ticket system between you and the people who write the lessons. A confusing scene or a wrong hint goes straight to them, with your words.
RiseGuide: a help center and a contact form, by its site.
